Reminderly ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is committed to protecting user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you install and use the Reminderly Google Chrome Extension.

2. Data Collection and Storage

Reminderly is designed as a **privacy-first, local-only** application.

• No Server Collection: We do not operate external database servers, tracking API endpoints, or user registration databases.
• Local Storage (chrome.storage.local): All user-generated content—including your scheduled reminders, focus session statistics, hydration logs, custom website blocker lists, and optional profile settings (such as age, gender, or menstrual cycle tracking dates)—is saved exclusively inside your web browser's isolated local storage.
• No Telemetry or Analytics: We do not track your usage, clicks, browsing behavior, or web visits.

3. Browser Permissions & Purpose

Reminderly requests minimal, necessary Chrome Extension permissions strictly to deliver its core features:

• storage: Required to save your reminders, preferences, and focus statistics locally on your device.
• alarms: Required to trigger scheduled reminder alerts and wellness break notifications at exact specified times.
• notifications: Required to present native desktop notification banners when Chrome is minimized or on restricted browser pages.
• tabs & activeTab: Required to detect the host domain of your active tab for Smart Context Queueing (holding low-priority reminders while on work sites like Notion or Figma) and for displaying focus blocker overlays on designated distracting sites.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): Required to inject content scripts to render Remi floating overlays and focus blocker modals on active web pages.
• offscreen: Required to host a background audio document to reliably play custom notification chime sounds when Google Chrome is minimized or on internal browser tabs.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer any data to third parties under any circumstances. Since no data is collected, no user data exists to share with advertisers, analytics providers, or third-party vendors.

5. Data Control & Export

You maintain complete control over your data:

• Data Backup & Export: You can export a complete copy of your local data as a JSON file anytime via Settings → Data Backup & Restore.
• Data Deletion: You can delete individual reminders, clear history, reset settings to defaults in the extension dashboard, or remove all data instantly by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's extension storage.
